Universal Academy’s Junior Academy was created for individuals who are currently still enrolled a high school program through local public schools, private schools, or home schooled who either do not have access to vocational training, or were not selected or missed the most recent enrollment for such programs.  Local vocational training institutions are currently turning away large numbers of possible candidates in both electrical and HVAC.  With the current need in the trades, Universal Academy decided to offer its own version or technical training to help interested individuals gain access to actual training.  Our program aims to create a program that will be done over the course of two summers (Session 1 & Session 2) and for TWO Days a week over the course of about 6 weeks.  Classes will be 8 hours a day and held from 8am to 4pm.  For this year we will be opening our Pre-Level 1 Session 1 program on the week of July 13^th and run through August 17^th.

Our goal for this program is to: 1 – offer training to those who need it, but do not currently have access to it.  And 2 – allow students the opportunity to achieve the same outcomes currently offered by local vocational schools.  Typically, students who complete a vocational training course in high school have the ability to “test out” of our Level 1 (first year) of apprenticeship school.  Any student who completes both sessions of Junior Academy will have the opportunity to take the same “test out” exam, and if they pass will allow them to skip a year of apprenticeship and begin in Level 2.
